Nail & Finger Biting
Program
Nail and hand, finger or knuckle biting
It's easy to identify nail biters by looking for red and sometimes bleeding
cuticles and ragged, torn nails. Some people are plagued by this habit for their
entire lives, as most conventional medical treatments are ineffective in
providing a cure. At Advance Care Hypnosis, we are ready to create a treatment
program that will quickly and effectively cure this habit by targeting the
source of the problem - the subconscious.
The Origins of Nail Biting
Ever wondered why you can't simply stop biting your nails or why it's so
difficult to cure such a seemingly common habit? It's because the subconscious
cannot be reasoned with. Your subconscious initiates the urge to bite your
nails, and usually by the time you realize you're doing it, it's too late to
stop. Your subconscious is the reason why it's so difficult to control your
desire to bite your nails and hands, and why more conventional treatments don't
work. But, it's also why hypnotherapy is so effective. With hypnotherapy, we are
able to direct our treatment at the subconscious, targeting the origin of the
problem.
For most, nail biting begins in childhood and if the habit is not broken at a
young age it can continue long into adulthood. Often the subconscious simply
remains fixated on the childhood action, which may arise out of boredom or even
as a calming activity. The more our conscious mind tries to break the habit, the
more the subconscious will resist, much like a stubborn child would. Hypnosis
helps to control the part of the subconscious that triggers this action, helping
to directly control the habit.
Understanding Why
Every patient is different. This is why we sit down with each of our clients to
learn exactly what triggers this behavior for them, how the habit started, and
what they may have done in the past to try and stop. Depending upon their
individual needs, we implement a personalized program to aid the subconscious in
breaking the habit. Whether we decide to teach the subconscious to avoid the
action entirely or try aversion methods that make it into a negative experience
for the subconscious rather than a positive one, I am confident in pur ability
to help you stop nail biting. In fact, many of our clients experience relief
after only one session. Call us today to take the first step toward breaking
your nail biting habit!
